Looking for patterns to decorate baby room in??

My idea is to find nature patterns, trees, birds, flowers, etc. and enlarge them, then make them life size paper pieces and put them on the walls. Does anyone know a good website to get patterns like that? All I can find are quilting patterns...

I know someone who used a coloring book and purchased a small projector (Hobby Lobby about $20) it will enlarge and project it on the wall then you trace the outline and it turns out perfect.

Using a Quilt Hanger to Display Your Quilts

If you want to show off your prized quilt, one of the best ways to do it is with a quilt hanger. Good quilt hangers are wooden with a shelf above it to put other items that will further decorate the area.

One of the important things to remember when displaying your quilt is to make sure you pick an area that has low light, average humidity that is at a comfortable level and good ventilation. If you display your quilt in sunlight or artificially lit area, it will damage the colors irreversibly.

Quilts are made to lie on a bed which distributes the quilt's weight evenly throughout its entirety. As well, you can layer your quilts on the bed as needed, and spread a sheet on top of the quilts to protect them from dust, sunlight and the like. If you have pets, you will likewise want to protect your quilts.

Some ways you can accomplish this while still displaying your handiwork includes:

  • A wall-mounted shelf complete with a rod to hold quilts
  • Use a free standing rack to hang them over
  • Hang your quilt over the back of a chair
  • Ladders are great for displaying and protecting your quilts

You will want to use acid-free tissue paper to pad the folds. In addition, refold regularly to avoid getting permanent creases.

If you want to hand your quilt on the wall, be sure and sew a sleeve designed for hanging across the top edge. Then, mount the quilt hanger on the wall, and run the rod through the hanging sleeve, attaching it to the rear of the hanger. If you have a smaller quilt, you can also use wire hangers, too. Another idea is to hang your quilt hanger rod from the ceiling using brackets and hang it like a curtain.

Never, ever use things like nails, pins or staples as these will make holes that will get bigger because of the quilt's weight as time passes. If you display your quilt correctly, you will have a great conversation piece and preserve it at the same time.
